Zusammenfassung:Elementary and secondary school students ( N = 2290) from four rural school districts responded to a questionnaire measuring incidences and attitudes towards drug and alcohol use. The subjects' responses indicate that social learning theory is a viable theory for explaining drug involvement in the young. The data suggest that intervention with drug and alcohol education programs should begin prior to the onset of adolescence.
