Zusammenfassung: | This study sought to identify the metaphorical languages employed by Indonesian female ulama to realize and promote linguistic gender equality. In this qualitative study, four Indonesian female ulama actively preaching in women's organizations participated. The data for this study consisted of the female ulama's figurative expressions of gender equality. The information was gathered via recording the ulama's sermons. Pragglejaz Group identified metaphorical statements expressing gender equality by altering Metaphor Identification Procedures (MIP). The study of data suggests that similes, new metaphors, and conceptual metaphors facilitate gender equality. In similes and novel metaphors, the balance between males and females is structured through colloquial. |
