Zusammenfassung:This project focuses on the development of prospective Elementary Mathematics Specialists (EMSs) in a K-5 Mathematics Endorsement Program. Program courses emphasized elementary mathematics content and pedagogy while providing opportunities for participants to evidence their learning through classroom teaching practice, all in an attempt to facilitate pedagogical shifts toward more standards-based instruction and dialogic discourse. Data presented include scored observation rubrics of classroom practices, professional portfolio reflections on implementation of new teaching practices, and semi-structured, individual interviews.
