Zusammenfassung:These model academic standards for agricultural education in Wisconsin represent the work of a task force of educators, parents, and business people with input from the public. The introductory section of this bulletin defines the academic standards and discusses developing the standards, using the standards, relating the standards to all students, and applying the standards across the curriculum. The main part of the bulletin is concerned with an overview of agricultural literacy and education and the standards as they pertain to elementary and secondary curricula. This section addresses specific content and performance standards for all students in grades 4, 8, and 12 pertaining to: (1) global agricultural systems; (2) technology information; (3) leadership, including the Future Farmers of America mission and strategies statement; (4) agriscience production; (5) ecology/environment; and (6) business management and marketing. Additional performance standards are provided in each area for agricultural students in grades 8 and 12. As applicable, the performance standards are cross-referenced to the standards for English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. An appendix lists groups commenting on draft copies of the standards. (SAS)
