(Roger Ellis); (3) "Total Quality Management through BS 5750: A Case Study" (Susan Storey); (4) "Quality Assurance in Health Care: The Implications for University Teaching" (Dorothy Whittington and Roger Ellis); (5) "Quality Assurance through Course Validation and Review" (Norman Gibson); (6) "Assuring Quality through Student Evaluation" (Maurice Stringer and Catherine Finlay); (7) "Institutional Research and Quality Assurance" (Roger Woodward); and (8)"University Teaching: A Professional Model for Quality" (Lewis Elton). The next five papers are concerned with identifying quality; they include: (9) "Teaching Styles of Award-Winning Professors" (Jerry M. Lewis); (10) "The First Distinguished Teaching Award in the United Kingdom" (Elaine Thomas); (11) "Expert Teachers' Perceptions of University Teaching: The Identification of Teaching Skills" (Christine Saunders and Eric Saunders); (12) "Teaching Standards from Quality Circles" (Jennifer Boore); and (13) "Effective Teaching" (George Brown).
