Lessons integrate the areas of social studies, language arts, business, science, industrial technology, and health. Presented in four sessions, Session 1 includes the following: (1) "Civil War: The Total Experience" (Jen Egert; Megan Ingold; Ron Fox; Laurie Munson); (2) "The Era of Slavery" (Elizabeth DeJulio; Kathy Thrasher; Lori Laredo); (3) "Discrimination" (Wendy Hagen; Andrea Stojak; Marcey Raymond); and (4) "Passing the Torch: An Interdisciplinary Approach to Sports and the Olympics" (Tracey Lueder; Kim Wendorf; Joe Ferguson; Susan Gentry).
