Zusammenfassung: | This booklet is the seventh in a series of nine from the Teacher Training Institute at Hofstra University (New York) and synthesizes the contribution of the late mathematics educator, Alfred Kalfus, to the institute as adviser, guest lecturer, and instructor. Descriptions of the enrichment topics for secondary school mathematics included in his course are presented with problems and some solutions, namely: infinity, non-Euclidean geometry, mathematical induction, graphing and curve sketching, geometrical transformations, the Cantor set, Zeno's paradox, and more. A bibliography and a starter list of topics for math fair presentations are also included. (JJK) |
