Zusammenfassung:Readings collected from "Educational Leadership" are presented to leaders in educational settings who work with teachers to improve curriculum development, to promote professional growth, and to improve instruction. This selection of readings is organized under nine headings: (1) History, Nature, and Purposes of Educational Supervision; (2) Tasks of Educational Supervision; (3) Trends in Organization for Supervisory Services; (4) Human Skills in Supervision; (5) Supervisory Techniques for Planning and Managing Educational Programs; (6) The Supervisor as Facilitator in the Improvement of Teaching and Learning; (7) The Supervisor as Leader in Curriculum Development; (8) The Supervisor as Leader in Staff Development; and (9) The Supervisor as a Researcher and Member of the Profession. Each topic begins with an overview, which relates the topic to educational supervision, and then directs the reader to the interaction of the articles to each other with questions. Each of the nine topics includes several articles. Appended is a Guide for Readers that presents a matrix in which 14 publications are keyed to the topics and through the topics to the articles in this book of readings. (LMS)
