Zusammenfassung:This report presents an overview of performance differences of Montgomery County Public School students and informs staff of important data sources. The report relies heavily on data from the Department of Educational Accountability going back to 1978. The Executive Summary presents, in chart form, the areas covered, the questions addressed, a summary of the findings, and report page numbers for further information. Topics covered are: (1) the racial and ethnic composition of school enrollment; (2) school staff composition; (3) student test results by racial and ethnic groups, 1977-82; (4) the relationship between minority group school composition and the black-white pupil achievement score gap; (5) enrollment in gifted and talented programs; (6) race differences in high school course enrollments; (7) programs for low-achieving students; (8) differences in school and self attitudes; (9) participation in extracurricular activities; (10) student suspension data; (11) in-school suspension; (12) dropouts; and (13) a graduate follow up study.
