Zusammenfassung:A companion document to the three-volume "Higher Education Finance Manual," which is intended to guide those completing the Higher Education General Information Survey (HEGIS) Financial Statistics of Institutions of Higher Education, is presented. While it is based on the data required for 1978-79, the guide can provide guidance in completing future surveys. For parts A through G of the survey, there is a statement of the intent in collecting the information, general guidelines for providing the information requested, and line-by-line instructions for completing the finance forms. Additionally, there is a look-up table consisting of an alphabetical list of common activities, organizational units, position titles, and types of expenditures, each associated with one or more expenditure categories and one or more subcategories.
