Resource Directory for Parents of Exceptional Children

The resource directory is part of the "Parenting and the Exceptional Child" project and contains names and addresses of programs, agencies, and services for handicapped children and their families in Connecticut and the nation. Resources are organized according to the following categories: services provided by the state of Connecticut, approved special education programs in Connecticut, boards of education in the Capitol Region Educational Council (CREC), programs offered by CREC, additional agencies providing services for exceptional children, regional educational service centers, recreation programs, religious programs, associations and organizations for parents, guidance for families, legal services for families, and names of members of the CREC parent advisory committee. Also listed are suggested books and periodicals for parents and books and periodicals of special interest to parent trainers. (DB)
