Zusammenfassung:A survey was conducted to identify environmentally related jobs, the current employment need in these areas, the 5-year projection, and the current status of educational training programs to meet the employment needs for technicians or paraprofessionals within a five-county area of Southern California. The environmentally related occupations identified were: Air Pollution Technician, Water and Wastewater Technician, Noise Technician, Occupational Safety and Health Technician, and Ecological or Environmental Resource Technician. The counties surveyed were Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Santa Barbara. The survey was done by use of form letters, telephone contacts, and personal meetings. Curricula and proposed curricula in the five occupational areas are provided. Appendixes to the report provide the survey data, questionnaire and form letter samples, a list of community colleges and information as to their training programs in the five occupational areas, and job descriptions.
