Zusammenfassung: | The Ontario Council of University Librarians (OCUL) was requested to undertake an assessment of the library facilities that would be required by each university to serve the enrollment projected for 1975-76. After submission of the report a research staff refined the data and analysis, and placed the figures for all universities on a comparable basis. The analysis is presented in two major sections: the first deals with the projected facilities requirements, and the associated capital commitment; and the second deals with the implications of this planning on future operating budgets. The prime objective of this report is to estimate the total capital dollar commitment that the Government of Ontario will be required to undertake to provide minimum library facilities for the 1976 projected enrollment levels determined from a range of current planning factors. The conclusions and data of the report are not intended for use in the allocation of resources at either the system or university level, but only as guidelines to the financial implications of future decision-making.
