Zusammenfassung: | Before technical assistance can be fully successful in helping the newly blind to adjust, the rehabilitation teacher must understand the inevitable identity crisis which his client suffers and try to establish a meaningful relationship with him. This report considers seven aspects of the rehabilitation process: (1) definition of the teacher's role, (2) development of a good relationship with the entire household, (3) general appraisal of the blind person and his family, (4) creation of a family team for rehabilitation, (5) development of a rehabilitation program, (6) motivation of the person, and (7) implementation of the program. Teaching outlines for: (1) Food Preparation, (2) Meal Planning, (3) Food Buying and Storage, (4) Home Management, and (5) Clothing and Textiles are appended. (BH) |
