Multi-purpose absorbent and protective sheet materials

FIELD: protection of supporting surface from various items and/or substances laid on it or vice versa. SUBSTANCE: invention proposes developed multipurpose sheet material 10 containing absorbing layer 20 having opposite the first and second surfaces, in essence, nonabsorbing moisture-proof protruding structure 40 connected with the first surface and located across it, and moisture-proof barrier layer 30, fully covering the second surface. Projecting structure ma have many separate projecting members or may be made with any desired configuration. Arbitrary adhesive layers 35 or members on surface of barrier layer facing supporting surface may be made to ensure higher stability in use. Projecting structure may be made integral with barrier layer or directly contact it so that forces applied to protruding structure are transmitted to barrier layer bypassing the absorbing layer.
