Zusammenfassung: | A plant that cools an incandescently-hot plate-, strip- or loose material (4) conveyed continuously. The plant comprises zones (1, 2, 3) with impinging air or gas coolant jet flows, supplied by blowers (7, 8) via nozzle registers (10). A special feature is connection of only the last zone (3) to the fresh supply (7) of coolant under pressure. After jet formation and contact with the material, collection fans (8) then force the coolant into a distribution chest (9, 12) connected to further nozzle registers (10). Further, like arrangements follow, up to the first (hottest) zone of incandescent material; only then does the final collection fan (13) discharge into the open air. Preferably, both upper and lower cooling zones are provided, with further collection fans and registers for recirculation from the lower zone. |
