2-PHENYLPYRIMIDINES,PROCESSES FOR THEIR PREPARATION,COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING THEM,AND THEIR USE AS FUNGICIDES

Compounds have formula (I), in which R , R , R represent independently from each other hydrogen, chlorine, bromine, nitro or (C1-C4)alkoxy; R represents hydrogen, iodine, bromine, (C1-C4)alkyl, dialkylamino-(C1-C4)alkyl, phenyl-(C1-C4)alkyl(C1-C4)alkylamino-(C1-C4)alkyl, phenyl or pyridinyl eventually substituted in the phenyl (heteroaromatic) moiety by halogen, (C1-C4)alkyl, (C1-C4)alkoxy or perhalo-(C1-C4)alkyl; R represents halogen, (C1-C4)alkyl, (C1-C4)alkoxy, phenyl-(C1-C4)alkoxy, (C1-C4)alkinyloxy, (C1-C4)alkylmercapto or (C1-C4)alkylsulfonyl; R represents hydrogen, (C1-C4)alkyl, (C1-C4)alkoxy-(C1-C4)alkyl or (C1-C4)alkoxy-carbonyl; R and R if necessary form together a saturated or insaturated ring moiety with 5 or 6 members, in which a carbon can be substituted by an S; X represents C=O or NH; Y represents O or NH when X represents C=O; Y is absent when X represents O or NH; and n is a number from 0 to 2. These compounds have advantageous pesticide properties, in particular against fungus pests. A process for producing compounds having formula (I) is also disclosed.
