Zusammenfassung:Poly-1-olefins, in particular polyethylene, are produced using a Ziegler catalyst whose transition metal constituents are produced by reacting a transition metal compound of titanium, zirconium, vanadium or chromium with a gel-like dispersion of a magnesium, alcoholate. An organoaluminium compound is used as co-catalyst. The polymerizates are obtained in high to very high yields and the particle size distribution of the polymerizates can be controlled.
