Zusammenfassung: | The reactor for reacting alkali metal chlorate with acid, in particular hydrochloric acid, for producing a gaseous mixture comprising chlorine dioxide and chlorine comprises a plurality of gas-permeable trays forming reaction stages which are connected by overflow lines. The trays have approximately the shape of an upside- down funnel and are equipped with a gas channel and a cap over the channel. Each reaction stage has 2 to 10 perpendicular, radially extending compartment walls arranged between the cap and the inner surface of the reactor. Adjacent compartment walls delimit a reaction chamber, and each reaction chamber has an inlet for acid. |
