A lockable apparatus (1) with a locking device, for a manual operating device (3) which is arranged on the apparatus in a control panel with a border, for example in a handle depression (4) whose edge has at least one pair of sealing holes (5) located opposite each other. According to the invention it is provided that a cover (2) can be placed on the edge of the control panel and, with locking elements (8,9), at least one of each pair of which is moveable, can engage in the sealing holes, a key-operated means of retention (14), such as a cam disc, being allocated to each moving locking element (9), which means of retention blocks the movement of the locking element in the engaged position.
