MICROBICIDAL COMPOSITIONS

Novel compounds of the formula wherein R1 is chlorine, bromine or nitro, R2 is chlorine or bromine, R3 is hydrogen or fluorine, R4 is C1-C9alkyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by halogen or C1-C3alkoxy, or is C2-C7alkenyl, C2-C4alkynyl or C3-C6cycloalkyl, each of which is unsubstituted or substituted by halogen or aryl, or is phenyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by halogen, nitro or C1-C4alkyl, or is a 5-membered heterocyclic ring system which contains a hetero-atom, or is X-R5, wherein X is oxygen or sulfur and R5 is C1-C6alkyl or C3-C6alkenyl, each of which is unsubstituted or substituted by halogen or C1-C3alkoxy, or is phenyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by halogen, nitro, C1-C3alkyl or C1-C3alkoxy, or is benzyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by halogen or nitro. These compounds possess useful microbicidal properties and can be used for controlling phytopathogenic microorganisms, especially phytopathogenic fungi. They have, for practical purposes, a very advantageous curative, preventive and systemic action for protecting cultivated plants, without adversely affecting these by undesirable side-effects.
