Zusammenfassung:Process for the preparation of (-)-vincamine (I) by oxidational transportation of a (-)-vincadifformine acid addition salt (II) using H2O2 in the presence of a soluble metal salt of a hydrated oxide of vanadium, chromium, molybdenum or tungsten. Pref. the soluble salt is an alkali metal, alkaline earth metal or ammonium salt, esp. Na or NH4 molybdate or tungstate. Process gives improved yield (60-70%) with reduced quantities of 16-epivincamine (2 10%) by product.
