Zusammenfassung:1435645 Discharging hoppers EISENWERKE GES MAXIMILLIANSHUTTE mbH 25 Feb 1974 [2 March 1973] 8465/74 Heading B8S Fine granular material 2 is dispensed in a metered flow from a pressurized storage vessel 1 by a device comprising a discharge opening 4, the cross-sectional area of which is adjustable by a movable closure and metering member 8, and downstream of the member 8 in the direction of flow of material a sealing plate 12 associated with a sealing ring 13 on to which the plate is movable to form a gas-tight seal. The material 2 in the vessel is fluidized by a device 3 adjacent a closure plate 5 having a discharge opening 4 into which the closure and metering member 8 seats, the member 8 and its seat 6 being made from a wear resisting material. The sealing plate 12 is connected to a rod 7 depending from the member 8, and seats on the sealing ring 13 mounted in a seating disc 11 provided with radial ducts from which pressurized gas issues to remove residual material particles from the plate 12 before it closes. Vertical movement of the rod 7 opens and closes the metering member 8 and the sealing ring 13. In the embodiment of Fig. 2 (not shown) the closure and metering member has a cylindrical portion which delays opening of the member until the sealing plate is open to a certain extent. In the embodiment of Fig. 3 (not shown) the closure and metering member is cylindrical with inclined passages therein permitting gradual start of discharge, whereas in the embodiment of Fig. 4 (not shown) a cylindrical closure and metering member moves through a sleeve having discharge apertures therein to achieve the same result. In the embodiment of Fig. 5 (not shown) the closure and metering member comprises two relatively sliding apertured plates and the sealing plate is formed as a butterfly valve. In the embodiment of Fig. 7 (not shown) the sealing plate is formed as a cone mounted on to the bottom of a cylindrical tube movable along the inside of a fixed tube apertured to permit material discharge as the inner tube lowers, the apertures being either triangular or helical.
