1386664 Aminothiophene carboxylic acid esters HOECHST AG 25 May 1972 [28 May 1971] 24640/72 Heading C2C Novel compounds of Formula I wherein R represents a phenyl raidcal which may be unsubstituted or carry 1, 2 or 3 substituents selected from halogen atoms, a trifluoromethyl radical, C 1-4 alkyl and alkoxy radicals, aralkoxy radicals having a C 1-4 alkylene moiety, and cycloalkyl radicals having 5 or 6 ring carbon atoms, and wherein two adjacent substituents may be members of a condensed alicyclic ring system, and wherein R 1 and R 2 , which may be the same or different, each represents a hydrogen atom or a C 1-4 alkyl radical, R 3 represents a hydrogen atom or a C 1-4 alkyl radical and R 4 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl radical or an aryl radical which may contain 1 or 2 hetero atoms, for example, nitrogen, oxygen or sulphur atoms are prepared by reacting a compound of Formula II or a salt thereof with an ester of Formula III wherein X is halogen, alkanesulphonyloxy, arylsulphonyloxy or bisulphate. Pharmaceutical compositions in conventional forms for oral, rectal, topical or parenteral administration having anti-inflammatory, antipyretic analgesic, and anti-phlogistic activity comprise an above novel compound and a carrier therefor.
