Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to a process for the preparation of 1,4-dihydropyridine derivatives of the general formula I in which R and R1 in each case represent an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms and R2 represents a substituted aryl group, by reacting a compound of the general formula II R2CHO II in which R2 has the abovementioned meaning, with a compound of the general formula III in which R1 has the abovementioned meaning, and an alkali metal amide in organic solvents in the presence of organic monocarboxylic acids in a temperature range of from 10 DEG C to the reflux temperature of the solvent.
