Zusammenfassung:1327162 Digester VEREINIGTE ALUMINIUM-WERKE AG 10 Feb 1972 [11 Feb 1971] 6341/72 Heading B1X [Also in Division C1] Apparatus for continuously extracting bauxite with sodium aluminate liquor comprises at least two digester tubes, a least one diaphragm piston pump for forcing a suspension of bauxite in the liquor through the tubes at a pressure of from 10 to 200 atmospheres gauge and a temperature of from 200‹ to 300‹C, decompressors for decompressing the liquor after digestion has occurred, and heat exchanges through which in use a heating medium is passed, there being at least two digester tubes passing through at least one heat exchanger. The heat exchanger may be heated by vapours from the decompressors. Embodiments are described in which two, four and six digester tubes pass through one heat exchanger.
