APATITE SLURRY AND PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION THEREOF

An apatite slurry prepared by re-dispersing secondary particles of apatite substantially completely; and a process for the preparation thereof. The apatite slurry is one comprising apatite particles dispersed in an organic solvent compatible with water and characterized by having such a degree of dispersion that the mean diameter of the apatite particles is 1 mu m or below and that any apatite particle having a diameter of 3 mu m or above is substantially absent. The process is characterized by feeding the above-specified apatite slurry into an agitating mill and conducting the milling and dispersion up to such a degree of dispersion that any apatite particle having a diameter of 3 mu m or above is substantially absent. L'invention concerne une boue d'apatite préparée par une nouvelle dispersion sensiblement complète de particules secondaires d'apatite; elle concerne également un procédé de préparation de cette boue d'apatite, laquelle comprend des particules d'apatite dispersées dans un solvant organique compatible avec l'eau, et est caractérisée en ce qu'elle possède un degré de dispersion tel que le diamètre moyen des particules d'apatite est de l'ordre d'1 mu m ou moins et que toute particule d'apatite possédant un diamètre de 3 mu m ou supérieur est sensiblement absente. Ce procédé consiste à alimenter la boue d'apatite ci-dessus définie dans un broyeur à brassage continu, à effectuer le broyage et la dispersion jusqu'à l'obtention d'un degré de dispersion tel que toute particule d'apatite possédant un diamètre de 3 mu m ou supérieur est sensiblement absente.
