SLIDE-IN TRAY FOR SCANNING DEVICE

A handheld scanning device, such as a pistol-type bar code reader, has a housing (4) having an outer shell (10) defining an interior space. An outer opening (14) in the shell communicates with the space. A tray (40) has an inner portion and an outer closure portion with a sealing surface. The inner portion is sized and shaped to be introducible into and removable from the interior space through the opening. The outer closure portion is dimensioned to close the opening when the inner portion is in the space. The sealing surface (62) sealingly engages an outer surface of the shell to protect the interior space and a component mounted on the inner portion from environmental contamination. The tray is easily removable from the device housing, and the component is easily demountable, to allow for quick and easy replacement of the component and/or tray. The closure portion may be provided with an access opening (50) for a memory card to provide an interface between the component and other elements of the device carried by the housing. L'invention concerne un dispositif analyseur portatif (par exemple, lecteur de code à barres du type pistolet), comportant une enceinte (4) dotée d'une coque externe (10) qui définit un espace intérieur. Une ouverture extérieure (14) dans la coque communique avec cet espace. Un plateau (40) comporte une partie intérieure et une partie extérieure de fermeture avec surface d'obturation. La partie intérieure a une taille et une forme permettant son introduction dans l'espace intérieur, via l'ouverture, ainsi que son extraction. La partie extérieure de fermeture est conçue pour obturer l'ouverture lorsque la partie intérieure se trouve dans l'espace. La surface d'obturation (62) s'engage hermétiquement avec une surface extérieure de la coque pour protéger contre toute contamination provenant de l'environnement l'espace intérieur et un composant monté sur la partie interne du plateau. On peut extraire facilement le plateau de l'enceinte du dispositif, et le composant est lui-même aisément démontable, ce qui permet de remplacer rapidement et facilement le composant et/ou le plateau. La partie de fermeture peut être dotée d'une ouverture d'accès (50) pour carte mémoire, de manière à assurer l'interface entre le composant et d'autres éléments supportés par l'enceinte du dispositif.
