FOOTWEAR MOUNTING SYSTEM AND A METHOD OF COUPLING A FOOTWEAR TO A RECREATIONAL DEVICE

Disclosed is a binding system for removably mounting a footwear member to a sporting or recreational device. In a preferred embodiment, the binding system includes a binding member having at least one rail attached thereto. The rail preferably has an elongated, arcuate shape. A corresponding slot on the footwear member is configured to slidingly receive the rail. The cross-sectional shape of the slot conforms to the cross-sectional shape of the rail. The footwear member is mounted to the binding member by aligning the rail and slot and slidingly inserting the rail into the slot using a rotational motion. The invention also relates to a method of coupling a footwear member of a user to a recreational device. Cette invention se rapporte à un système de fixation conçu pour fixer de manière amovible un article chaussant à un dispositif récréatif ou à un dispositif destiné à la pratique d'un sport. Dans une réalisation préférée, ce système de fixation comporte un élément de fixation sur lequel est fixé au moins un rail, lequel possède de préférence une forme arquée et allongée. Sur l'article chaussant, une fente correspondante est conçue pour recevoir le rail par coulissement. La section transversale de la fente est adaptée à la section transversale du rail. On monte l'élément chaussant sur l'élément de fixation en alignant le rail et la fente et en insérant, par coulissement, le rail dans la fente au moyen d'un mouvement de rotation. L'invention se rapporte également à un procédé de couplage de l'élément chaussant d'un utilisateur à un article récréatif.
