A DEVICE AND A METHOD OF MEASURING FLOW RATE FOR A THREE PHASE FLUID

A device of measuring flow rate for a three phase fluid, such as the effluent of an oil well, which may contain a mixture of oil, gas and water, comprises: a three-port means (5), a three-port pipe fitting (2), an upstream sensor (6) and a downstream sensor (7) are in turn fit on the pipe for transferring the effluent. A by-pass pipe (3) is connected between the three-port means (5) and the three-port pipe fitting (2). The means (8) of measuring a phase resolution for the three phase fluid is fit on the by-pass pipe (3). The upstream sensor (6), the downstream sensor (7) and the means (8) transmit electric signals. The signals enter a signal converter and are translated into data. Then these data enter a computer. The computer provides flow rate of each phase fluid. A measuring method is also disclosed. The device and the method are used to measure flow rate of each phase fluid on line without separating the mixture.
