Zusammenfassung:The present invention relates to the construction of engines and may be used for the control and diagnosis of internal combustion engines. The technical result of this invention consists in a higher precision and more functional possibilities when monitoring the working cycle of an engine. To this end, the method for monitoring the working cycle of an engine uses ionic conductivity and comprises the following steps: generating a voltage pulse; generating a discharge from a voltage-dividing capacitor connected in parallel to the electrodes of a discharger located in the combustion chamber of the engine; measuring the voltage at the central point of the voltage divider immediately after the discharge and also after a period not exceeding the duration of the whole discharge from the divider; and possibly calculating the difference between the measured voltages. In case the monitoring needs to be performed at different points in the working cycle, the above-mentioned operations are repeated periodically. This method may be used for monitoring the parameters of an indication diagram (the relative values of the pressure in the combustion chamber, the situation at maximum pressure, the form of the indication diagram which is used to determine the presence/absence of detonation and the passages for ignition of the mixture). This method may also be used to monitor the mixture composition as well as the condition of the electrodes of the spark discharger in the combustion chamber. Implementation of this method does not require additional power source nor high-voltage isolation while there are no specific requirements concerning the ignition coil.
