Zusammenfassung:Process for increasing the production of penicillin G (benzylpenicillin) in Penicillium chrysogenum through the expression of the gene pcl. The gene pcl codes for the enzyme phenylacetyl-CoA ligase. Through recombinant DNA techniques, the gene pcl obtained from Pseudomonas putida U and characterized by the sequence SEQ ID NO: 1 is introduced, and new transformed mutants CECT 20192 are obtained, which produce an increase of at least 10 % of penicillin G with respect to untransformed control strains.
