STABILISED SOLUTIONS OF POLYSACCHARIDE

The use together of (1) an aromatic compound containing a benzene ring bearing at least two substituents selected from the group consisting of hydroxy groups, primary amino groups and secondary amino groups and (2) a sulphur-containing compound containing an -SH group or an anion or precursor thereof, not being a carbocyclic arenethiol, is effective in stabilising solutions of polysaccharides such as cellulose in tertiary amine N-oxides against thermal degradation. Such solutions are useful for the manufacture of extruded articles such as fibres and films. La présente invention concerne l'utilisation combinée d'une part (1) d'un composé aromatique comportant un cycle benzénique portant au moins deux substituants choisis à l'intérieur du groupe constitué des groupes hydroxy, des groupes amino primaires et des groupes amino secondaires et d'autre part (2) d'un composé à base de soufre contenant un groupe -SH, un anion ou un de ses précurseurs, qui ne soit pas un arènethiol carboxylique. Cette combinaison est efficace pour stabiliser des solutions de polysaccharides telles que la cellulose dans les oxydes d'azote d'amines tertiaires vis-à-vis de la dégradation thermique. De telles solutions sont utilisables dans la fabrication de produits moulés par extrusion tels que les fibres et les pellicules.
