Zusammenfassung:	Phthalyl amidase is an enzyme previously unknown in the art that catalyzes removal of the phthalyl moiety from phthalyl-containing amides. The current invention provides DNA compounds encoding the phthalyl amidase enzyme and methods for expressing such compounds. The present invention also provides recombinant DNA vectors encoding phthalyl amidase and host cells transformed with these DNA vectors. La phtalyle amidase est une enzyme précédemment inconnue qui catalyse la suppression de la fraction phtalyle d'amides contenant du phtalyle. La présente invention concerne des composés d'ADN codant la phtalyle amidase et les procédés d'expression desdits composés. Elle concerne encore des vecteurs d'ADN de recombinaison codant la phtalyle amidase et des cellules hôtes transformées à l'aide desdits vecteurs d'ADN.
