Zusammenfassung:	The present invention relates to a method for preventing or controlling pathological changes which occur in association with cataract formation in the mammalian eye by reducing the amount of or inhibiting the action of transforming growth factor-beta(TGF beta ). The invention also relates to the use of inhibitors of TGF beta to prevent or minimise "aftercataract". Procédé de prévention ou de réduction des changements pathologiques survenant en même temps que la formation de cataracte dans l'oeil d'un mammifère. Ce procédé consiste à réduire la quantité du facteur de croissance transformant de type bêta (TGF beta ), ou à inhiber l'activité de celui-ci. On a également prévu l'utilisation d'inhibiteurs de TGF beta dans le but de prévenir ou de minimiser l'opacification capsulaire postopératoire.
