CARTRIDGES FOR DEVELOPING LATENT FINGERPRINTS

A cartridge useful in detecting fingerprints comprises a housing (1) with a chamber therein and an outlet from said chambers, in said chamber. In said chamber is a solid granulated cyanoacrylate (8), or a thermally stable porous of fibrous support (5) impregnated with a liquid cyanoacrylate ester (6), and in one embodiment, a volatile fluorescent dye with a molecular weight between 100 to 500 Daltons and a quantum efficiency in fluid benzene solution at ambient temperature of greater than 10.
