TABLET DISPENSER WITH LOCKING MEANS

The present invention relates to dispensing containers for dispensing tablets. The problem with such containers is the tendency to inadvertently dispense tablets and the accessibility of the tablets by children. The dispensing container (20) comprises a housing (24), a reciprocating element (26) and a locking mechanism (22) movable between locked and unlocked positions to lock or unlock the reciprocating element (26). The locking mechanism (22) remains in either the locked or unlocked position until manually moved to the other position. The locking mechanism incorporates visual, tactile and audible signals indicating when the locking mechanism (22) is in the unlocked position.
