Zusammenfassung: | The spring (1) is arranged, with a preset tension, at the bottom of the instrument or onto its supporting parts, so as to correct the deviation of the casing with respect to the horizontal plane, due to the tension of the strings. Hence the hammer, in the keyboard instruments, or the tangent, in the clavichord, strikes again the string at the theoritical excitation point. Furthermore, there is no deformation of the parts of the casing, of the bar and of the resonance table in the clavichord, the virginal, the spinet, the harpsichord, the square piano. Thus, the chord is very well kept in these musical instruments.
