An information processing system according to an embodiment of the present disclosure comprises: an imaging unit that images a placement platform; and a control unit that executes a first mode in which an object imaged by the imaging unit is recognized, and a second mode in which an object in a region closer than a predetermined first distance from the placement platform in a direction in which the imaging unit is positioned is not recognized, and an object in a region separated from the placement platform by the predetermined first distance or more in the direction in which the imaging unit is positioned is recognized.
