Zusammenfassung: | The group of inventions relates to the field of creating materials for use in protecting information carriers against counterfeit and reliably authenticating same. Proposed is a composite luminescent material consisting of at least two luminescent components that form an inseparable compound having a core-shell structure, or a laminar structure, or a xerogel structure. The luminescent components have different luminescence spectra within the spectral range of 370-780 nm and have the same or overlapping excitation spectra. The luminescence emission bands of the luminescent components have different afterglow durations that differ by at least 20%. A method for producing a luminescent material includes applying, to particles containing a first luminescent component, an intermediate layer of nano-sized spherical particles of silicon dioxide, and subsequently precipitating other luminescent components from a liquid phase onto the resulting surface over a set period of time. A second embodiment of the method includes producing a hydrogel, introducing luminescent components in a given concentration into said hydrogel, and subsequently removing the liquid phase. An information carrier has applied to the surface thereof or introduced into the composition thereof a protective marking that contains the claimed composite luminescent material. The technical result is that of enhancing the security of information carriers and enabling authentication thereof once in circulation by virtue of a visible optically variable effect that consists in a marked and repeatable change in the emission colour of the material during and after exposure to photoexcitation radiation.
