An installation method for a ventilation device comprising an air conditioner, wherein: the ventilation device comprises a ventilation pipe that extends to the outdoors via a through hole in a wall partitioning the indoors from the outdoors, and a ventilation unit that is installed on the outdoor wall surface; the installation method comprises a boring step for boring a plurality of prepared holes in the wall surface, and a fixing step for fixing the ventilation unit to the wall surface by inserting fixing screws through a plurality of fixing holes provided in the ventilation unit and into the prepared holes; and the boring step is carried out in a state in which a pattern paper inscribed with a plurality of marks indicating boring positions for the plurality of prepared holes has been positioned on the wall surface.
