The present application belongs to the technical field of place queries. Disclosed are a position information acquisition method and apparatus. The method comprises: receiving a first input of a user with respect to M messages in a target session interface, wherein M is a positive integer; in response to the first input, displaying a first window, and displaying at least one place identifier in the first window, wherein the at least one place identifier is a place identifier included in the M messages; receiving a second input of the user with respect to N place identifiers among the at least one place identifier, wherein N is a positive integer; and in response to the second input, displaying a second window, and displaying, in the second window, position information of places corresponding to the N place identifiers.
