ONCE DAILY ALDOSTERONE SYNTHASE INHIBITOR (R)-(+)-5-(P-CYANOPHENYL)-5,6,7,8-TETRAHYDROIMIDAZO[L,5-A]PYRIDINE

The present invention relates to a composition for use in the treatment of a disease or disorder, wherein said disease or disorder is preferably a disease or disorder in which aldosterone overexposure contributes to the symptoms of said disease or disorder, said composition comprises a compound which is (R)-(+)-5-(p-cyanophenyl)-5, 6,7,8-tetrahydroimidazo[l,5-a]pyridine or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein preferably said compound is (R)-(+)-5-(p-cyanophenyl)-5,6,7,8-tetrahydroimidazolium[l,5-a] pyridine dihydrogen phosphate, and wherein said compound has an enantiomeric excess (ee) of the (R) form higher than or equal to 99%, and wherein said composition is administered once daily for at least eight weeks to a patient in need thereof. La présente invention concerne une composition destinée à être utilisée dans le traitement d'une maladie ou d'un trouble, ladite maladie ou ledit trouble étant de préférence une maladie ou un trouble dans lequel la surexposition à l'aldostérone contribue aux symptômes de ladite maladie ou dudit trouble, ladite composition comprenant un composé correspondant à (R)-(+)-5-(p-cyanophényl)-5, 6,7,8-tétrahydroimidazo[l, 5-a]pyridine ou un de ses sels pharmaceutiquement acceptables, ledit composé, de préférence, étant le (R)-(+)-5-(p-cyanophényl)-5,6,7,8-tétrahydroimidazolium[l,5-a] pyridine dihydrogénophosphate, et ledit composé présentant un excès énantiomérique (ee) de la forme (R) supérieur ou égal à 99 %, et ladite composition étant administrée une fois par jour pendant au moins huit semaines à un patient qui en a besoin.
