When combined with a transition metal, such as nickel, the ligand provides a catalyst complex useful in hydrocyanation and other reactions. Un ligand phosphite bidentate comprend un squelette ayant une structure d'acénaphtène-1,2-diol dans laquelle les atomes d'hydrogène des groupes hydroxyle ont chacun été remplacés par un groupe P(OR1)2, R1 étant un radical aryle.
