The substrate (1) comprises a first surface (1a) and a second surface (1b) opposite to each other, and a plurality of side surfaces (1c) connecting the first surface (1a) and the second surface (1b); and at least one of the plurality of side surfaces (1c) of the substrate (1) is a selected side surface (1cc). The light emitting device layer (4) is disposed on the second surface (1b) side of the substrate (1).
