METHODS FOR SMR HARD DISK-BASED RAID CREATION, DATA WRITING FOR RAID, AND RAID RECOVERY

A method for SMR hard disk-based RAID creation, relating to the technical field of data storage. The method for SMR hard disk-based RAID creation is applied to a preset RAID program, the creation method comprising: determining a plurality of SMR hard disks for creating RAIDs; configuring an SMR region of the plurality of SMR hard disks as a first array to be created, wherein the first array comprises a plurality of stripes, and each stripe comprises a write region with the same offset address in the SMR region of the plurality of SMR hard disks and is used for storing data files written in aligned order; and configuring a CMR region of the plurality of SMR hard disks as a second array to be created, wherein the first array and the second array are different RAIDs. Compared to the prior art, application of the present creation method enables a RAID to be created using an SMR hard disk without using another hard disk as a cache.
