A virtual environment server (210) comprising a controller (211), wherein the controller (211) is configured to: receive an indication of a first shared area (250:1A, 250:2A, 260) in a first virtual environment (240:1), wherein the first shared area (250:1A, 250:2A, 260) is associated with a first shared coordinate system (255:1A, 255:2A); receive an indication of the first shared area (250:1A, 250:2A, 260) in a second virtual environment (240:2); receive an indication of a second shared area (250:1B, 250:2B, 260) in the first virtual environment (240:1); receive an indication of the second shared area (250:1B, 250:2B, 260) in the second virtual environment (240:2); receive an indication of a location of an object (220:1, 230:1) in the first virtual environment (240:1); and determine a corresponding location in the second virtual environment (240:2) for a corresponding object (230:2), wherein the controller is further configured to determine the corresponding location by: determining whether the location for the object (220:1, 230:1) in the first virtual environment (240:1) indicates a position in the first shared area (250:1A, 250:2A), and if so translating the location of the object (220:1, 230:1) in the first virtual environment (240:1) into a location in the second virtual environment (240:2) representing a same location in the first shared area, and if not translate the location of the object (220:1, 230:1) relative the first shared area (250:1A) and the second shared area (250:1B, 260) in the first virtual environment (240:1) into a same position relative the first shared area (250:2A) and the second shared area (250:2B, 260) in the second virtual environment (240:2).
