COMMUNICATION METHOD AND APPARATUS

Provided in the embodiments of the present application is a communication method. The method comprises: an access network device performing congestion detection on a first data stream; and the access network device sending a first data packet to a user plane function (UPF) network element according to a congestion detection result, wherein a GPRS tunneling protocol user plane (GTP-U) header of the first data packet comprises congestion information, or, the access network device sending a second data packet to a user equipment (UE) according to the congestion detection result, wherein a service data adaptation protocol (SDAP) layer of the second data packet comprises the congestion information, and the congestion information is used by a server to adjust the rate at which the first data stream is sent. Congestion detection and control can be provided to implement a media streaming service, thereby guaranteeing normal operation during network transmission.
