An inkjet printer 10 comprises: a first recording head 50 which ejects, onto a recording medium 5, processing liquid that reacts with ink to fix the ink to the recording medium 5; and a second recording head 60 which ejects the ink onto the recording medium 5. A media selecting unit 102 of a control device 100 is configured to be capable of selecting one rank from among predetermined ranks relating to ink wettability of the recording medium 5. A storage unit 104 stores a table T1 associating the ink wettability rank of the recording medium 5 and a discharge density of the processing liquid ejected by the first recording head 50. A calculating unit 105 calculates the discharge density of the processing liquid on the basis of the ink wettability rank of the recording medium 5 selected by the media selecting unit 102 and the table T1. A processing liquid discharge unit 106 controls the first recording head 50 to discharge the processing liquid onto the recording medium 5 with the discharge density calculated by the calculating unit 105.
