The trim clip (100) has shank extensions (116) positioned diametrically opposite to each other about the shank (104). Each shank extension (116) is connected to the shank (104) and the base (102). The trim clip (100) also has supporting ribs (118) diametrically positioned diametrically opposite to each other about the shank (104). Each supporting rib (118) is connected to the shank (104) and the base (102) and is capable of elastically flexing towards the shank (104).
